Beltane Drum/Dance/Hoop/Spin Gathering

Join us as we celebrate and honor Beltane at Hammonasset Beach State Park. The wheel of the year turns. It’s believed that many ancients recognized only two seasons –Summer and Winter, this being the beginning of Summer (or the height of Spring) in the Northern Hemisphere. Some use the calendar in observance, others look to the flowers and other signs of nature to acknowledge it’s arrival.
Come to drum, to move, or simply to be. All ages, abilities and genders are welcome. If you have a favorite instrument you’d like to play, feel free to bring it. A limited number of drums will be available.
We’ll be at our usual location behind/beyond Meigs Point Nature Center. Donation requested.
