Mark Zarrillo is a versatile drummer, percussionist, drum circle leader, educator and sound healing practitioner. He holds an M.A. in Humanities from SUNY at Buffalo, has traveled to Guinea for a drumming and culture intensive, and is a trained HealthRHYTHMS® facilitator. Mark draws upon his rich knowledge of West African music and culture, as well as over forty-five years of drumming wisdom, when creating community and helping others express their own individual rhythmic spirit.

Mark’s most influential teachers include: George Dragone, Howard Zwickler, Charles Keil, Michael Markus, Aly Tachöl Camara, Yamoussa Camara and Alisco Diabate. Mark’s diverse musical performance experience includes: theatre, worship services and kirtan, hard core punk, rock, blues, and jazz standards in both small ensembles and big band orchestras, orchestral percussion ensembles, as well as a traditional West African drum & dance troupe.

Mark has been organizing and leading rhythm-centric events throughout Connecticut and beyond since 2005.
